A new federal report revealed that most US adults (over 54 percent) had some kind of disorder musculoskeletal pain such as back pain, joint or neck in 2012 (the last year for which statistics available) .1

Turmeric for Pain Relief
Turmeric was once best known as a tasty and colorful addition of curry, but in the scientific world, turmeric has earned a reputation as a healer of many facets. Turmeric contains curcumin, which has significant anti-inflammatory properties.
It can inhibit both the activity and the synthesis of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX2) and arachidonate 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) and other enzymes that have been implicated in inflammation.
A 2006 study found that an extract of turmeric compound curcuminoids (curcumin is the most investigated curcuminoids) blocked inflammatory pathways, effectively preventing the implementation of a protein that triggers inflammation and pain.18

To the relief of chronic muscle pain or joint pain, try mixing 15 to 60 drops of your chosen essential oil with 1 ounce of carrier oil, then massage the painful area.
You can also mix three drops of thyme oil with 2 teaspoons sesame oil for use as a massage oil and apply on the abdominal area to relieve pain. This can also be used as a massage oil to treat other types of pain, including insects and animals and insect bites. You can also use essential oils in the bath to relieve pain. Add two to 12 drops (depending on essential oil) in a teaspoon of honey, whole milk, vegetable oil or another dispersing agent then added to the bath once you are in the bathtub.
